Posted about 10 years agoDiorama made by beginnersThe content was so terrible (lol), so this time I'd like to introduce something I made using commercially available ingredients.This time, I made it for the purpose of displaying my own vehicle on a tabletop.Exposed dioramas tend to accumulate dust easily and are not beautiful, so this time I used a case with a lid. I tried using something sold under the name collection box at 100 yen shops.
<How to make>
Shaping the base
Styrofoam used for packaging was cut into a size that would fit into the case.Arrange it into the desired shape.It depends on the type of Styrofoam, but a sharp cutter will suffice if it's a type that won't fall apart.If you have Styrofoam that crumbles easily, cut it with a Styrofoam cutter using nichrome wire.
prepare the surface
Cover with plaster for coloring and adhesion of plants.I used plaster cloth (similar to a bandage sprinkled with plaster powder), which can be used simply by soaking it in water.Run your wet hand over the surface to make it smooth.
Gluing the rail and coloring the surface
You can leave it white, but it's easy to recreate the atmosphere of bare ground in areas with few plants, so I decided to go with an earthy color for now.I think it would be fine just to paint it with a light brown such as ocher.I used leftover watercolor paint, but since I will be soaking it in water after this, it might be better to use something that won't wash away with water.
lay ballast
Spread ballast around the sleepers and rails, and use a soft brush to adjust the ballast position.Gently moisten the ballast by wiping a fine mist with a mist sprayer, then apply scenery bond dissolved in water (water-based white woodworking glue is also acceptable) to secure the ballast.
greening
Similar to ballast, sprinkle scenery powder "Turf" to prepare it.Just like ballast, moisten it and fix it with adhesive.Mixing different colors of turf gives it a realistic look.
Glue shrubs, trees, etc.
Cut commercially available wood, lichen, foliage, etc. into strips and glue them together.Random placement creates an atmosphere.
Completed in a case
This time I used a collection box mini from a 100 yen shop, but there seem to be a variety of sizes, so find the one you like.
It's over.
