●Base model
The base is the Bachman Spectrum series Dash 8-40CW (old product). I bought 5 cars because I was happy that they were cheaper than domestic manufacturers. However, as I was looking at it, I wanted it, so I decided to keep one on hand.
It's true that there are many things that are inferior to Kato's products, but I like modifying cheap vehicles rather than collecting highly complete vehicles, so I upgraded them. My impression of Oita changed drastically in just 15 minutes.
●Processing
Upgrading the front coupler area is easy and effective, so I got the Micro Train Lines MTL pilot set and installed it. And then there was the skirt that was lying around and the Sunrise MU cable. It's a simple modification that can be done with adhesive and a very fine drill, so feel free to try it out.
By the way, the drill is an electric screwdriver sold at home centers for around 1,000 yen, an extra-fine drill (180 yen) and a chuck conversion adapter (250 yen) that are sold separately. As an electric screwdriver, the rotation speed is low, but it is useful because it warps and is convenient for drilling small holes.
In the photo above, the left side is after modification, and the right side is before modification. A simple task can make a big difference in your impression. It was a pain to repaint the entire MTL pilot and skirt, so I painted and glued only the additional parts with Mr. Color spray can <Silver>. Bachman's silver is a bit flashy, so Tamiya's aluminum silver doesn't seem to be shiny enough.
●Complete
The setting sun was just coming in, so I took a commemorative photo.
Amtrak is good, but so is Santa Fe. Rie Miyazawa is also good though (lol). But personally, I think Miho Kanno's photo book is even better (LOL). The story has gone off track (sweat). Everyone please try it.
